Da Nang launched the tourist season in 2018 on April 27 at the Bien Dong Park in the city's Son Tra peninsula with a programme of more than 20 activities, aiming to lure and entertain visitors to the coastal city.

Prominent among the events will be a Kayak racing competition, a kite contest and pavilions introducing Da Nang tourism information, sea cuisines, tour services and performance of sea sports. Music performances will also be organised every night.

A painting contest themed sea and islands will be held for children, together with various other activities.

The number of tourists to the central coastal city of Da Nang reached more than 355,500 on holidays between April 28 and May 1, a year-on-year surge of 14.2 percent.

Of the total, there were over 101,600 foreigners and 253,900 domestic holiday-makers, up 20.2 percent and 12 percent respectively from the same time last year.

The majority of foreign visitors were from the Republic of Korea, Japan and China. They came to the city via direct flights.

Cabaret Night – New Year’s Eve Party at Fabulous Furama

Furama rang the year of 2013 with its1920's Silver Cabaret Night. "Cabaret of the 20's, where the energy of the entertainment and the social atmosphere buzzed with excitement and extravagance! Great entertainment food, drinks and dance played center stage and the evening continued well into the morning hours. The sparkle of the Cabaret, in its most popular years; the 1920's, will be brought to life at the Furama Resort for the Silver Cabaret New Year's Eve Gala Evening. Wear your hats and tails, your ruffled skirts, petticoats and black stockings, for a night of legendary 'dance hall' extravagance and entertainment". The resorts International Convention Palace was transformed into a Grand Ballroom of these burlesque 1920's.

"The Castle" opened its door to welcome guests at 8:30 pm. The entrance of the Grand Ballroom, complemented with an 'old- world' car and hostess' dressed in feathers and laces, brought the guests back in time to a place where the excitement of Cabarets for an evening of 'dance-hall' extravaganca. The 1920's themed Siver Night Cabaret at the Furama was attended by more than 350 international guests and visitors who buzzed with excitement and great social atmosphere to ring in the New Year. Many guests attended in costume of the era such as hats and tails, ruffled skirts, petticoats, black stockings and feathers.

The exquisite program inspired guests with a mouth watering international buffet, entertainment shows by "Myles and Friends" Philippine Band, Minh Nhat Dance Troupe  and, as very special guest stars, the duet of Opera Singers Dinh Thien Nhan (Vietnam's Got Talent) and Ly Mai Trang.

For the midnight countdown, the guests were treated to a lighting of five large cannons which shot a rainfall of silver confetti over the excited crowd. The evening was an extravagant event and continued well into the wee hours and in true Furama festive style and of exceptional quality.

In Danang City, The New Year Countdown Party entitled "I Love Da Nang" was held on 31 December at the city's 29 March Square on 2 September Street.  The event started at 8.00 pm and ended at 0.15 am.

This event was jointly organised by the Da Nang People's Committee, the city's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Joint Stock Corporation (SABECO) where tens of thousands of people attended.

The event saw the participation of many famous domestic and foreign singers and artistes, including Thanh Lam, Phuong Linh, Nguyen Vu, Vietnamese-born foreign DJ Phareal Phương, the Hoai Linh-Truong Giang comedy group, and the MTV and Rock Unlimited bands.
