Danang opens new tourist information center

At the end of 2012 the new information center will open in Da Nang. The Da Nang City People's Committee has approved the proposal by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the construction of the center.

Tran Chi Cuong, Deputy Director, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Danang said that as expected the center is located right in the city center. The center will provide free publications necessary for tourists to Da Nang as tourist maps, brochures, information about hotels, tour operators, destinations etc. It is also the place to get the information related to staying safety in the city and how to cooperate with relevant agencies in case of an emergency

In addition, the centre also has meeting rooms to welcome tour or press groups to Da Nang and the centre for tourism promotion will also be based there.

"We want this centre to provide free utilities for tourists to Da Nang and to be the bridge for businessmen to the city," he said.

In eight months, more than 1.87 million domestic and foreign tourists visited Da Nang, an increase of 8% compared to the same period in 2011. Total revenue from tourism is estimated to be 4091 billion, an increase of 29%. The city's tourism revenue is expected to reach about Dong 5,500 billion in 2012.
