Da Nang launched the tourist season in 2018 on April 27 at the Bien Dong Park in the city's Son Tra peninsula with a programme of more than 20 activities, aiming to lure and entertain visitors to the coastal city.

Prominent among the events will be a Kayak racing competition, a kite contest and pavilions introducing Da Nang tourism information, sea cuisines, tour services and performance of sea sports. Music performances will also be organised every night.

A painting contest themed sea and islands will be held for children, together with various other activities.

The number of tourists to the central coastal city of Da Nang reached more than 355,500 on holidays between April 28 and May 1, a year-on-year surge of 14.2 percent.

Of the total, there were over 101,600 foreigners and 253,900 domestic holiday-makers, up 20.2 percent and 12 percent respectively from the same time last year.

The majority of foreign visitors were from the Republic of Korea, Japan and China. They came to the city via direct flights.

Furama Christmas choir starts to practice

Christmas at Furama Resort Danang, Vietnam is traditionally a very special time at the resort and celebrates a wonderful and merry Festive Season for people from all over the world. The Christmas carols song by the Furama Choir is a perfect way to show love and give a message of peace and delight all our in-house and the great crowd of local guests giving them the occasion to share with them a happy festive season.

"The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Christmas at the Furama have long been a tradition for our local and international guests as well as local and expatriate families from Danang city. We are thrilled to hopefully welcome all of you to enjoy the warm atmosphere and the sweet melodies presented in this year's truly special program" – said Mr. Matthias Wiesmann, General Manager of Furama Resort Danang.

The tradition has it that the Furama Christmas Choir, dressed in white silk and berry head wreaths, will perform traditional carols such as 'Silent Night', 'Away in a Manger', 'We wish you a Merry Christmas', etc, giving an extra warm touch to the perfect evenings of Christmas. The team started practicing this week and will work hard for the whole month before the official performance of Lighting Ceremony and Christmas.
