Danang industry eyes the potential of Hong Kong market in 2018, and aim to boost further actions for a sustainable development besides its recent strong markets of China and Korea.

Statistics by the Tourism Department showed that, for the first 6 months of 2018, 7,193 Hong Kong visitors arrived to Danang and witnessed a jump from 11,046 visitors in 2016 to 14,903 visitors in 2017. It is reported to increase 35% last year.

Mr. Johnny Li, Managing Director Gateway Group Limited in Hong Kong opined: "Danang has recently emerged as an attractive destination for foreign visitors. The recent Danang tourism presentation has helped Hong Kong travel agencies gain an in-depth look into luxurious accommodation services as well as the developing MICE market in Danang."

Located along sections of Mai Hac De and Ly Nam De streets in Da Nang's Son Tra District, the Son Tra Night Market was officially opened to the public on Sunday evening. It daily operates from 6.00pm until midnight, and admission is free for all visitors.

The new night market features a total of 152 stalls selling food and drinks, souvenirs, fashionable clothes, bags, footwear, specialties, dried seafood, books, pictures and other commodities.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Chairwoman of the Son Tra District People's Committee, Mrs Tran Thi Thanh Tam, remarked that the purpose of the Son Tra Night Market was to to create a combined tourist and shopping space in the inner city, allowing visitors to comfortably shop, enjoy entertainment services and explore local cultural characteristics. This would help the city deal with the current lack of its own special tourism products.

GO GREEN @FABULOUS FURAMA ON AUGUST, 2016

On August 20, "Go Green @Fabulous Furama" continued their tree planting program with a ceremony for our loyal guests. The campaign not only benefits the environment, but also creates public awareness and Furama's commitment to a sustainable, eco-friendly way of life.

At the event, Dr. Lejeune, Irène and Prof. Dr. Heinrich Netz were pleased to plant their own Flamboyant trees or "Phuong Vi" in the resort's magnificent tropical garden. These beautiful trees, bearing their name tags, are impressive gifts that fulfill their heart with joy and loyal commemoration.

"We created the "Go Green @Fabulous Furama" with the hope of motivating everyone to take action in helping to protect the environment, raise awareness of climate change while, at the same time enhancing guests experience by giving them something to remember and to love every time they come back", Matthias Wiesmann, General Manager of Furama Resort Danang claimed.

Furthermore, Furama Danang is the pioneer resort to lend a helping hand in saving the wild animals, especially the rhino by signing a Save The Rhino Agreement at a conference held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with TRAFFIC – Wildlife Trade Monitoring Network at this tropical paradise. Furama is also the first resort to cooperate with the city's authorities to save the wildlife, particularly the Vooc - the new symbol of Danang, listed as endangered in Vietnam's Red Book, and also named the 'queen or primates' - as well as the beautiful environment of Danang and the Central Coast of Vietnam.

All of these activities have led the Furama Resort of having been awarded the "2015 National Environment Award" by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment , "Green Brand Award 2014" by Economics and Forecast Magazine, and "Green resort" by ASEAN conference.
