The central city of Da Nang has overtaken HCMC and Ha Noi, Viet Nam's two biggest cities, to become the only Vietnamese candidate listed in the world's top 10 worth-living destinations for expats in 2018, according to a survey conducted by Live and Invest Overseas travel magazine.

As the country's third largest city, Da Nang has garnered widespread recognition from international visitors thanks to spectacular urban landscape without much air and noise pollution, healthy business environment, enormous tourism potential, and notably, a convenient geographical location close to world-recognized heritage sites.

OVER 3,100 ATHLETES TO GATHER FOR ASIAN BEACH GAMES – DA NANG 2016

An estimated 10,000 people, including nearly 5,000 athletes and trainers from 45 countries across Asia, will gather in Vietnam's central Da Nang city for the 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG 5) scheduled from September 24 to October 3, 2016. This information was released by the organising board at an international press conference held in Furama Resort on September 23.

The ABG5 will feature 14 sports, 22 disciplines and 178 events. The logo represents sand and waves in the shape of youthful and energetic athletes, while the mascot features a swift let - a distinctive bird of Vietnam's southern central coast. The slogan is "Shining Sea, Bright Future". This is indeed one of the continent's biggest sport events, initiated by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

In ABG4, Vietnam ranked 5th in the medal tally with 8 gold, 12 silver and 20 bronze medals. This year, the country set a target of making the top 4 at the ABG5.
