PRESENTATION OF LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATES AT FURAMA RESORT DANANG

Furama Resort Danang is once proud to have played host the 14th Danang Beach Surf Life Saving Club's Vietnam Surf and Pool Rescue training course, held from June 19 to 23, 2016.

Lifeguards from resorts such as the Pullman Danang Beach Resort, Fusion Suites Danang Beach, Fusion Maia Resort, The Nam Hai Resort, Cua Dai and Furama Danang joined Furama's newest lifeguard recruits for the five day course, which culminated in a formal SLSA Certificate Presentation.

The training course aimed to give professional lifeguard's world's best practice standards in aquatic management, rescue, first aid, spinal injury management and CPR techniques. In an apparent bid to lower drowning rates, this 5 day program was intense and put the candidates through swimming and rescue skill drills and builds on the lifeguard's theoretical knowledge.

The Surf and Pool Rescue Certificate is an internationally accredited certificate comprising of a Surf Rescue Certificate (issued by Surf Life Saving Australia) and a Junior Life Saver certification (issued by the International Life Saving Federation). It requires lifesavers to undertake annual re-qualification which includes testing their rescue skills, knowledge and fitness. It is also an important opportunity to update their training with cutting edge lifesaving methods and to connect with other lifeguards.

The training course is supported by Surf Life Saving Australia in conjunction with Surf Life Saving Vietnam and Son Tra Eco Tourism and Sea Board Lifesaving Project Furama Resort Danang.
