ASIA PACIFIC ONBOARD TRAVEL (APOT) FORUM RETURNS TO DANANG, VIETNAM
Danang, Vietnam – The Asia Pacific Onboard Travel (APOT) networking forum is all set to return to Danang, Vietnam, an event that will be hosted at the culinary & heritage Furama Resort Danang from the 25th to the 28th of 2023. This marks the second time the APOT forum will grace the charming city of Danang, the previous successful hosting being in 2014.
APOT is a unique organization in the Asia Pacific region that primarily focuses on airlines and their associated industry members, including inflight services, catering, interior design, suppliers, cargo companies, tour and destination operators, and travel tourism departments. The primary objective of the event is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and new ideas among industry professionals. Notably, APOT is a non-profit organization committed to networking differently and driving positive change within the industry. This year, the organization is celebrating its 11th anniversary since its inception.
The 2023 APOT forum promises a dynamic lineup of interactive activities. The event will kick off with a media briefing in the afternoon of the 25th, followed by the SOVICO welcome cocktail party by the poolside of Furama Resort Danang, generously sponsored by the SOVICO group. On the 26th, the CATRION “Jet Setters Palette” chefs challenge, sponsored by CATRION Airline Catering Saudi Arabia, will showcase culinary expertise.
Delegates will also embark on a unique excursion to Bana Hills on the 26th, hosted by the Danang Tourism and Promotions, featuring a delightful lunch and a captivating exploration of the area. In the evening, delegates will enjoy a bus trip to Hoi An Heritage City for a tour and a sumptuous central Vietnamese traditional dinner at the esteemed Morning Glory restaurant by the river, sponsored by Ms. Vy of Taste Vietnam Group.
On the 27th, delegates will convene at the hotel for an information-sharing networking session. In the afternoon, the world-renowned Master Chef Dimuthu will demonstrate sugar arts at the Furama Resort Danang. Chef Dimuthu Kumarasinghe, or Chef DK as he is popularly known, is the Group Skills Development Chef at Aitken Spence Hotels and Heritance Hotels and Resorts. A world renowned culinary celebrity, Chef DK is the only chef in the world to ever win 9 gold medals in individual events held at two separate Culinary Olympics, once in 2004 and again in 2006. All chefs from Danang are invited to witness and participate in this enlightening session.
The evening will culminate with the Danang Tourism and Promotions Department hosting an award and closing ceremony evening at the picturesque Poseidon river cruise on the beautiful HAN river.

Inter-regional Meeting in Tourism Ecosystem between Côte d’Azur and Danang
On October 28th, at Furama Resort Danang, “Vietnamese Cuisine – International Twists” cultural exchange event – a part of IMTECAD 2023, aimed at promoting tourism and cultural exchange between the cities of Cannes and Nice in the Côte d’Azur region, France, and Danang city, Vietnam, took place.
The event was organized through a collaboration between the Danang Tourism Association, the Danang Hotel Association, and the ULYSSEUS European University Alliance, in partnership with the University of Côte d’Azur and the culinary heritage Furama Resort Danang.
Furama Resort Danang is honor to welcome the French delegation, led by Mr. De Pariente Thomas, Deputy Mayor of Cannes (French Republic), Pr. Dr.Sc. Bùi Văn Ga, ex-Vice Minister, Ministry of Education and Training, Pr. Dr.Sc. Lê Thành Nhân, Dr. Cao Trí Dũng – Chairman of the Danang Tourism Association, Mr. Nguyễn Đức Quỳnh – Chairman of the Danang Hotel Association, and Mr. Gentzsch Andre Pierre – General Manager of Furama – Ariyana Danang Tourism complex, as well as representatives from various hotels and the sponsor Green Field Vietnam.

The highlight of the event was a cultural exchange and presentation featuring dishes from the Côte d’Azur region, France, and Danang, Vietnam. These dishes creatively blended international elements with “Vietnamese Cuisine – International Twists.” The chefs, including Michelin 2-star Chef Sinicropi Christian, the culinary ambassador of Cannes Côte d’Azur, and Chef Doãn Văn Tuấn, the head chef of Furama – Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex, used water lily grown on the Hoà Liên farm in Hoà Vang as the primary ingredient. They prepared innovative dishes that preserved the exquisite flavors of Vietnamese cuisine.
Chef Sinicropi Christian, who had been inspired during his visits to local markets in Vietnam, expressed his desire to offer culinary experiences that blend the cultural heritage of his home in Côte d’Azur, France, without compromising the essence of Vietnamese cuisine.
Representing Danang, Chef Doãn Văn Tuấn served a dish titled “Vietnamese fresh seafood hand rolls with waterlily & herbs” with the aim of introducing the unique flavors of Vietnam to the distinguished guests from France. Chef Tuan shared: “The combination of waterlily with the five flavors of sour, spicy, salty, sweet, and bitter, sourced from various herbs in the Central Region, I hope to present a visually appealing, delicious, and nutritious dish that celebrated the traditional local culinary values”

On October 23rd, the coastal provinces of Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, and Da Nang City collaborated with the Vietnam-Malaysia Friendship Association to host a program aimed at promoting Vietnamese tourism in Kuala Lumpur. Furama Sport Tournament Concludes Successfully
At 17:30 this afternoon (18th Oct 2023), at the International Convention Palace, the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of Furama Sports Tournament 2023 took place with the participation of nearly 100 employees and the Board of Directors of Furama Resort Danang. At the end of the Tournament, the organizer awarded 12 sets of medals to 12 male and female teams competing in 6 sports including Football, volleyball, badminton, tug of war, sack jumping and walking stilts.

GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2023 has officially kicked off for the first time in Danang
The largest beer festival in Southeast Asia, GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2023, has officially kicked off for the first time in the beautiful coastal city, Danang.
On this evening of October 6, 2023, GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2023 is officially kicked off for the first time in Danang city. The festival started at 6:00 PM and concluded at 11:00 PM on the same day at the International Convention Palace of Furama Resort, with nearly 500 attendees including tourists, expatriates living and working in Vietnam, representatives of German businesses, and a large number of local residents.
Oktoberfest is the world’s largest annual beer festival, originally from Munich, Germany. Furama Resort Danang organized Town Hall Event for the second quarter & the third quarter 2023
On September 27th and 29th, 2023, Furama Resort Danang organized a ceremony to honour outstanding employees in the second and third quarters of 2023.
During the event, 500 members of Furama Resort Danang listened to speeches by Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh – General Director of Indochina Beach Hotel JSC and Mr. Gentzsch Andre Pierre – General Manager of Ariyana – Furama Danang Tourism Complex, regarding the development direction of the resort in the coming year, specific actions to achieve goals, and introducing the golden rules to create excellent service. The leadership also honoured 13 children of employees who passed the university entrance exam in 2023 and recognized 23 nominees for Employee of the Quarter Award.
This was also an opportunity for the company’s leadership to acknowledge the contributions of individuals who have dedicated themselves to Furama Resort Danang for 10, 15, 20, and 25 years.
At the end of the ceremony, the members celebrated birthdays and sent best wishes to those born in the second and third quarters, and received Mid-Autumn Festival cakes from the trade union and the company. The event was successful and helped foster unity and closeness among all members of the Furama family.

On 29th September 2023, on the beautiful beach of Furama Resort Da Nang, a warm and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival took place for more than 180 children of nearly 200 Resort’s staff.
The party starts at 5:00 p.m and ends at 7:30 p.m, with many exciting activities such as: such as modern dance, eating traditional Mid-Autumn specialities, lion dance, and fireworks on the beach. Nothing can compare to the joy and innocence reflected in the smiles of the children on this warm Mid-Autumn night by the beach.
