"Culture is the identity of the nation"

The “Colors of Vietnam” Lantern Collection features unique hanging lanterns created by the collaboration between “Magic of Colors” and the folk painting artist from Dong Ho, with the consciousness of “respecting the past, embracing the future.”

The artists utilize distinctive materials in Vietnam to craft the “Colors of Vietnam” lanterns, such as Diep paper (made from scallop shells) and Do paper (poonah-paper), which embody the essence of Dong Ho folk paintings and create a distinct “ethnic color” as poet Hoang Cam mentioned in his two verses, “Traditional Dong Ho paintings depict vivid roosters and pigs, Ethnic colors shining brightly on Do paper.”

For the artisans, each lantern is a masterpiece, representing their dedication and desire to preserve the value of traditional craftsmanship and spread their love for the cultural heritage of Vietnamese folklore.

Quang Duc Ceramics is a unique cultural heritage that requires preservation. Quang Duc refers to a pottery village in An Thach commune, Tuy An district, Phu Yen province. Over 300 years ago, Quang Duc ceramics gained fame not only for their unique designs but also for their distinct firing technique in kilns with temperatures exceeding 500 degrees Celsius, using firewood made from linden trees combined with the shells of blood cockles found only in the O Loan lagoon in Phu Yen province, and green clay and yellow clay from An Dinh. The high temperature causes the blood cockle shells to melt and blend with the clay, resulting in a unique glaze that cannot be found elsewhere. Green clay is used for making ordinary ceramics, while yellow clay is used for crafting high-quality ceramic products.

Quang Duc Ceramics heritage has unfortunately been a lost cultural heritage. The restoration of the Quang Duc pottery village in Phu Yen can be considered nearly impossible. This is because, until now, the knowledge of how to make Quang Duc ceramics has almost vanished, and the production process has also deteriorated.

For your appreciation, Furama Resort Danang is honored to present these two collections.
