Surprisingly, the five-compartment house from the Kinh Bac region has now been reconstructed in Da Nang City.
Right in the heart of this coastal tourist city, Steak House The Fan at Furama Resort Danang officially returns with a completely new appearance that surprises many visitors.
Meticulously designed in the traditional five-compartment Kinh Bac style, Steak House The Fan offers a unique experience. The five adjoining compartments, solid oval wood beams, gracefully curved yin-yang roof tiles, and stone steps are all authentically recreated by Northern artisans.

The five-compartment structure at Steak House The Fan is built entirely of Vietnamese oval wood, not only for its familiar, durable, and culturally-rich Northern identity, but also for its deep familial symbolism in Vietnamese culture since ancient times. As folk sayings go: “Plant oval trees when marrying, betel nuts when having children,” the oval tree would be planted upon marriage, and 20–30 years later, when children are grown, the tree would be ready for harvest to build five-compartment houses – a symbolic continuation of blessings across generations.
More than just a restaurant, Steak House The Fan is like a precious gem encapsulating Vietnamese cultural heritage and stories. This five-compartment house was originally constructed in 1939 near the end of the Nguyen Dynasty and still retains its traditional essence. From the intricately carved roof trusses to the traditional bed posts, everything reflects the artisans’ dedication and craftsmanship. These are not mere decorations – they convey wishes and family values. Rebuilding this house is a respectful tribute to the past.

Because cuisine is not just food – it’s the enjoyment of space and culture
Interestingly, inside the house, diners enjoy a wide selection of Western-style steaks. Tender beef cuts, rich French foie gras, and delicious seafood soups are prepared with refined authenticity.

While enjoying top-quality steaks, guests are immersed in a Northern Vietnamese cultural setting – from the “village” entrance, earthen walls, decorative items like clay jars and vintage ceramics, to the garden where Northern folk dances are performed against a backdrop of an infinite ocean view.

Mr. Andre Pierre – General Director of the Furama – Ariyana Danang International Tourism Complex – shared: “In addition to offering top-tier ingredients such as grain-fed beef, chilled beef from Japan, the US, and Australia, organic vegetables, and specially selected wines by sommeliers, Steak House The Fan aims to provide a full culinary journey – where rich Northern cultural space meets Western culinary excellence, allowing guests to enjoy not only flavors but also deep emotion and understanding.”

Regarding this restaurant model within a resort, Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh – Vice Chairman of the Hotel Association – commented: “This is a pioneering model featuring traditional architecture and three-region cultural interaction through folk culinary activities. It aligns with Da Nang’s vision of becoming a cultural and event tourism city, appealing to both domestic and international tourists as well as local residents.”
