As the global Halal (Islamic) tourism market continues to grow rapidly, Đà Nẵng is assessed as a destination with strong advantages to take the lead and deepen its participation in this highly potential segment. Developing a service ecosystem tailored to Muslim travelers not only helps expand markets and enhance tourism competitiveness, but also reinforces Đà Nẵng’s image as a safe, civilized destination that respects cultural diversity and promotes international integration.

Affirming a Safe and Friendly Destination

In 2025, Đà Nẵng welcomed more than 17.3 million overnight visitors, up 15% compared to 2024; international arrivals reached over 7.6 million, marking an increase of up to 25%. Revenue from accommodation, food services, and travel activities was estimated at approximately VND 60 trillion, continuing to serve as a key pillar of the city’s economic structure.

Đà Nẵng focuses on promoting high-spending and long-stay visitor segments, particularly from Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, India, Australia, and Europe; while expanding into potential markets such as the Middle East, CIS, and the United States through the restoration and launch of new international flight routes.

In 2025 alone, the city implemented various Halal market promotion initiatives, attracting more than 617,000 Muslim visitors from Indonesia, Malaysia, CIS, and the Middle East. At the same time, many major tourism and accommodation enterprises in Đà Nẵng proactively standardized services, invested in infrastructure, and improved service quality to meet the specific needs of this market segment.

According to Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi, with its favorable location, high-quality services, safe and friendly environment, and increasingly完善 infrastructure, Đà Nẵng is now ready to supply and serve Muslim travelers, aiming to build the image of Đà Nẵng as a Muslim-friendly tourism destination.

Forming a Halal Tourism Ecosystem and the Role of Enterprises

Along with the city’s orientation and the National Project “Enhancing International Cooperation to Build and Develop Vietnam’s Halal Industry by 2030,” Đà Nẵng’s Halal tourism ecosystem is gradually taking shape with increasingly proactive participation from the business community.

Currently, the city has more than 800 Muslim-friendly dining establishments, including nearly 40 specialized Halal/Indian restaurants, over 10 Halal-certified venues, and numerous hotels and restaurants that have adjusted menus and service styles to suit Middle Eastern and CIS markets.

Among pioneering enterprises, Furama Resort Danang is recognized as one of the leading units in developing a Halal-friendly resort model. As the first five-star resort in Đà Nẵng to officially receive Halal-friendly certification, Furama has comprehensively implemented Halal standards across cuisine, operations, and service spaces, contributing to the completion of the local Halal supply chain.

To meet the market’s stringent requirements, Furama Resort Danang closely cooperates with HalalTrip.vn in controlling ingredients, food preparation processes, staff training, and the arrangement of prayer spaces. A dedicated Halal kitchen has been invested in and operated separately to prevent cross-contamination; meanwhile, prayer rooms are located at Furama International Convention Palace, particularly convenient for international MICE groups with Muslim participants. Amenities such as prayer mats and Qibla direction indicators in guest rooms are also provided upon request.

Halal cuisine at Furama Resort Danang is led by Chef Seikh Mursalim, a Muslim executive chef from India with more than 16 years of experience working with international hotel groups. Under his leadership, Halal dishes at Furama not only meet strict standards but also harmoniously blend local and international culinary essences.

In 2025, the Furama – Ariyana complex welcomed over 5,000 visitors from Halal markets such as India, CIS, and Malaysia. Guest satisfaction levels, particularly regarding Halal cuisine services and service quality, were rated very highly.

According to experts, the Halal market offers sustainable growth opportunities, helping Đà Nẵng balance its tourism markets and reduce dependence on traditional ones. In this context, Furama Resort Danang’s proactive investment, service standardization, and readiness to serve international MICE groups are seen as clear evidence of business alignment with the city’s Halal tourism development strategy.

With strong infrastructure, service quality, and international event-hosting experience, Furama Resort Đà Nẵng continues to affirm its role as a leading Halal-friendly destination, contributing to Đà Nẵng’s goal of becoming a Muslim-friendly destination in Vietnam and the region.
