Not everyone visiting Da Nang during the DIFF season manages to snag grandstand tickets in time — and in fact, Da Nang locals have a “secret map” of free fireworks viewing spots that are just as beautiful. For the DIFF 2026 season, fireworks will be launched at the Han River Port area on Saturday nights, starting around 8:00 PM. Below are 9 coordinates around the Han River for you to choose your own corner of the sky — updated according to this year’s launch location, along with small tips for each spot.

Group 1: Riverside, near the launch site — for those who want to “feast their eyes and ears”
1. Bach Dang Street (West bank of the Han River)
This is the number one choice if you want to stand closest to the launch site without a ticket. This riverside walking street has a direct view of the Han River Port area; the section most “voted” for by locals is around 42–50 Bach Dang. Standing here, you can fully feel the sound of the fireworks, the glow, and the festive atmosphere — almost like a grandstand experience, just without the seat.
Tip: this area fills up very early, so be there before 6:30 PM on “hot” competition nights. Bring a compact mat to sit and wait more comfortably.
2. Tran Hung Dao Street (East bank, outside the grandstand area)
The main grandstand is located on Tran Hung Dao Street, but along this route and the park strip on the East bank of the Han River, there are still many public spaces for those without tickets. The area around the Dragon Carp statue and the Love Bridge is a familiar meeting point: you can watch the fireworks while having Da Nang’s famous “Instagrammable” background.
3. APEC Park
Located on the West bank near the Dragon Bridge, APEC Park with its unique dome is a free fireworks viewing spot that has been mentioned frequently in recent DIFF seasons: open space, airy, with floor seating and a wide view towards the river.

4. Dragon Bridge area
Ask a Da Nang local “where to watch the fireworks?”, and eight out of ten will say the Dragon Bridge. The area around the foot of the bridge and nearby vacant lots provide a close view of the launch site, combined with the image of the brightly lit Dragon Bridge — the city’s symbol. In return, this is also the most crowded among the free spots.
5. Han River Bridge
The famous swing bridge connecting Le Duan and Pham Van Dong streets offers a close view of the launch site. Standing at either end of the bridge, you can observe the performance quite fully.
6. Tran Thi Ly Bridge & Thuan Phuoc Bridge
Two options for those who want to “take a step back”: Tran Thi Ly Bridge with its sail-shaped cable-stayed architecture offers a panoramic view of the river from the south; Thuan Phuoc Bridge at the northern mouth of the river is much less crowded, though the fireworks are further away — suitable for those who prioritize leisure.
Important note for all bridges: on competition nights, authorities often restrict stopping or ban traffic on some bridges to ensure safety. Please follow the city’s traffic diversion announcements before each night and strictly comply with on-site instructions.

Group 3: Viewing from afar — for those who dislike crowds
7. Bac Dang Giang Park (North of the Han River)
A familiar gathering spot for local families: spacious, easy to spread a picnic mat, with a view down the river towards the launch site.
8. High roads on the East bank: Ngo Quyen, Le Van Duyet
The secret of “experienced” locals: these high and open road sections are less crowded, easy to park, and allow for a quick exit after the show. The trade-off is distance — you will mainly see the high-altitude fireworks and won’t fully experience the music and low-altitude effects.
9. Son Tra Peninsula — fireworks between sky and sea
The “chillest” choice on the list: from stops along the Son Tra coastal road or the area near Linh Ung Pagoda, the entire panorama of Da Nang at night spreads out below your feet, with bursts of fireworks blooming in the distance against the city backdrop. Due to the distance, the experience is more about sightseeing and photography than “watching a performance” — but for couples and photography enthusiasts, this is the most valuable coordinate.
Safety tip: the road up Son Tra at night requires steady driving; go early before it gets completely dark and avoid riding a motorbike yourself if you are not familiar with mountain roads.
General experience for all free viewing spots
- Arrive 1.5–2 hours early for nearby spots (Bach Dang, Dragon Bridge, APEC Park); distant spots can be more relaxed.
- Park your vehicle on the outer perimeter and walk in — after 7:00 PM, streets near the river are often congested and many sections are blocked.
- Prepare water, a small hat/fan, and a sitting mat; June–July nights in Da Nang are still sultry before the launch.
- Set a meeting point with your group in case you get lost, as mobile signals around the Han River often jam during peak hours.
- Book your ride back before 8:45 PM or accept walking far from the center before calling a ride — the time immediately after the fireworks is always the hardest to get a vehicle.
After the fireworks, return to the sea
One final tip, from the experience of many guests returning to Da Nang every DIFF season: choose a place to stay away from the festival core. When tens of thousands of people leave the riverbank at 9:00 PM, the journey back to a hotel right in the center can sometimes take longer than returning to a seaside resort.
Furama Resort Danang is located on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, facing My Khe Beach, about 15–20 minutes away from the Han River area under normal conditions — close enough for you to catch a late dinner at the resort’s restaurant after the fireworks night, far enough so that the festival streets don’t follow you into sleep. The next morning, instead of car horns, you wake up to the sound of My Khe waves — and if you still have the “Culture Night” inspiration, an Italian lunch at Don Cipriani’s right by the pool will extend the aftertaste of the DIFF season.
