“A beautiful wedding only lasts a day. But a destination capable of preserving the memories of the wedding day can be spoken of for a lifetime.”

For decades, when mentioning tourism, people often spoke of resorts, conferences (MICE), cultural tourism, or beach tourism. Few thought that one of the fastest-growing segments of the global tourism industry would start with a very simple word: Love.
Wedding Tourism – or tourism combined with wedding organization – is gradually becoming a real economic sector. A wedding today is no longer confined to a few hours of ceremony and reception. It is a multi-day journey where the bride, groom, family, and friends experience a destination together, explore local culture, and create irreplaceable memories.
What is special is that behind those romantic moments lies a massive economic value chain.
From “Wedding Day” to “Experiential Journey”
Previously, couples often held their weddings in their hometown and then went on a honeymoon; however, global trends are changing rapidly.
Destination Weddings bring that entire experience right to the destination.
Guests don’t just come to attend a party. They stay for two to four days, attending welcome parties, the wedding ceremony, after-parties, the next day’s brunch, combined with relaxation, spa, golf, shopping, and exploring local culture.

For the Indian market, that journey is even longer with many traditional rituals such as Mehndi, Haldi, Sangeet, Baraat, and Pheras. A wedding can host from 150 to over 800 guests, creating thousands of room nights and significant revenue for accommodation, dining, transportation, decoration, photography, entertainment, and dozens of related service industries.
Therefore, wedding tourism today is considered one of the segments with the highest spending per tourist in the tourism industry.
When nations compete with… love stories
It is no coincidence that Bali, Phuket, the Maldives, or Tuscany consistently appear on the list of the world’s top wedding destinations.
They don’t sell a ballroom. They don’t sell a beach. They sell a dream.
It is the ability to turn a big day into a story told for many years to come.
Every wedding photo posted on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok becomes a free promotional campaign for the destination. A video a few minutes long can inspire thousands of other couples to choose that very place to start their married life.

That is also why many countries view wedding tourism as an important part of their high-quality tourism development strategy.
Vietnam is facing a great opportunity
Vietnam possesses almost all the elements that the international wedding market seeks.
It is a long coastline with some of the most beautiful beaches in Asia.
It is a unique culture, rich in identity.
It is an increasingly developing system of high-end resorts.
It is competitive costs compared to many destinations in the region.
Notably, Vietnam has a rare advantage where, within a radius of just a few hundred kilometers, it can connect beaches, heritage sites, mountains, golf courses, and modern cities. This gives couples more options to build a wedding journey with a personal touch instead of just holding a simple party.
However, what the market needs is not just beautiful scenery. More importantly, it is the ability to turn those advantages into a complete tourism product.

Danang – from a tourist city to a Wedding Tourism destination
Among Vietnam’s localities, Danang is showing the most ambition.
Unlike before, when wedding tourism was mainly carried out by individual businesses, in 2026 the city implemented the Da Nang Wedding Tourism Incentive Program, an official support program for domestic and international wedding groups.
Policies such as airport welcomes, support for pre-event surveys, souvenirs, cultural performances, filming, and fireworks show that wedding tourism has been recognized as a strategic tourism product of the destination, not just a promotional activity.
Reality is also proving that potential.
In 2024, Danang organized 45 wedding events with more than 4,600 attendees. By 2025, the city had supported more than 50 destination weddings from markets such as the United States, India, Australia, and the overseas Vietnamese community. At the same time, leading Indian wedding planner groups were invited for surveys to expand the international market.
This shows that Danang is moving from promoting wedding tourism to building a wedding tourism ecosystem.
Honeymoon – the piece that completes the journey of happiness
Weddings and honeymoons are inherently inseparable. After the wedding is the time when couples want to enjoy privacy and explore the destination.
Today, a honeymoon is no longer just about relaxation.
It could be a private dinner on the beach.
A spa session for two.
A morning round of golf.
A stroll through Hoi An Ancient Town.
A cooking class.
Or simply a few days undisturbed amidst nature.

Furthermore, many destinations have expanded honeymoons into new products such as Anniversary Travel, Vow Renewals, Family Celebrations, or wedding anniversary vacations many years later.
This means that a destination does not just serve guests once, but can accompany them through many stages of life.
Furama Resort Danang – the advantage of a “Wedding Campus”
In that picture, Furama Resort Danang possesses a distinct advantage.
Many resorts have beautiful beaches.
Many hotels have large ballrooms.
But not many places can provide the entire celebration journey within the same ecosystem.
Furama not only has a private beach, tropical gardens, and Indochinese architecture rich in Vietnamese cultural identity, but also owns a system of villas, restaurants, spas, and various event spaces, allowing for the design of weddings of different scales – from private ceremonies with only a few dozen guests to grand banquets for hundreds.
What creates an even greater advantage is the direct connection to the International Convention Palace (ICP) and the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang.

Furama – Ariyana Danang International Tourism Complex
The Furama – ICP – Ariyana complex has the capacity to serve approximately 5,000 guests simultaneously, meeting the needs of large-scale weddings, international events, as well as multi-day weddings with complex operational requirements. This is a capability that very few resort complexes in Vietnam possess.
Therefore, many experts suggest viewing Furama not simply as a Wedding Venue, but as a Wedding Campus – where the entire journey from guest reception, accommodation, wedding ceremony, banquet, after-party, and honeymoon to cultural experiences all take place within a unified ecosystem.
The future belongs to “Celebration Destinations”
If previously the hotel industry competed on room numbers, today the difference lies in the ability to create experiences.
A beautiful ballroom can be built in a few years.
A luxury resort can be invested in with large capital.
But becoming the place that families from many countries choose to entrust with the most important day of their lives is a story of branding, trust, and organizational capacity accumulated over time.
That is also why many experts believe the future of wedding tourism lies not in selling a wedding package, but in building Celebration Destinations – destinations for every important milestone of life, from proposals, weddings, and honeymoons to wedding anniversaries and family reunions.
For Danang, if MICE once turned the city into a regional conference hub, then Wedding & Honeymoon Tourism could entirely become the next growth driver for the tourism industry.
And in that journey, with advantages in location, facilities, event organization experience, and the Furama – ICP – Ariyana ecosystem, Danang not only has the opportunity to host more beautiful weddings but can also become the starting point for thousands of love stories from around the world. This also means the city will not only be remembered as a resort destination but also as a place where happy journeys begin.
