Furama Resort Danang partners with Co Tu farmers from Tr’hy Village, Tay Giang District, Quang Nam Province, to develop agricultural products.
On February 19, 2024, at the People’s Committee of Tr’hy Village, Tay Giang District, Quang Nam Province, a signing ceremony took place for the “Support Program for Development and Consumption of Agricultural Products” between North My An Tourism Joint Stock Company, Danang Hotel Association, Danang Culinary Culture Association, and Tr’hy Village Farmers’ Association, Tay Giang District. The program aims to promote the consumption of local agricultural products and flowers, ensuring market access, and focusing on sustainable tourism development, linked with community building activities.
Attending the signing ceremony, we were honored to welcome Mr. Tran Van Ta – Head of Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Tay Giang District; Mr. Le Hoang Linh – Member of the District Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tr’hy Commune; Mr. Le Huu Nam – Deputy Commander of A Xan Border Guard Station, Tay Giang District; Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh – Vice Chairman of Danang Tourism Association, Chairman of Danang Hotel Association; Mr. Zo Ram Pruong – Chairman of Tr’hy Village Farmers’ Association; Mr. Andre Pierre Gentzsch – CEO of Furama-Ariyana International Resort Complex Da Nang; Mr. Doan Van Tuan – Vice Chairman of Danang Culinary Culture Association, Head Chef of Furama-Ariyana International Resort Complex Da Nang, along with our esteemed guests, representatives from local authorities, and food suppliers: Viet Farm, Green Heart, Sun Food, and An Thanh F&B Catering Ltd.
During the working session, Mr. Le Hoang Linh delivered the opening speech: “We warmly welcome the support and companionship from the local community towards development initiatives led by various organizing units. This significantly contributes to improving income sources and enhancing the livelihoods of the local community. Through field trips, practical surveys, as well as the cooperation agreements between parties, I hope to achieve tangible and positive outcomes in the near future. This will serve as a foundation for further development, expanding the scope, and strengthening the sustainable cooperative relationship between Tr’hy commune and esteemed associations and businesses.”
Regarding the challenges and opportunities of the collaborative project, Mr. Tran Van Ta remarked: “Tr’hy commune possesses abundant labor force, a mild climate, and vast agricultural land. However, local residents still lack knowledge and agricultural techniques. I hope that with the joint efforts of all parties involved, as well as the support from major food supply companies, there will be significant improvements in agricultural production processes and post-harvest preservation techniques for the local farmers. This aims to establish a stable, clean, and compliant agricultural source, adhering to food safety regulations, and fostering sustainable agricultural development in Tr’hy commune specifically, and Tay Giang district as a whole.”
“Green and sustainable tourism is a global trend. In Da Nang, with over 1300 hotels ranging from 2 to 5 stars, we still have many potential aspects to develop in this direction. One of them is to develop a stable and clean agricultural supply source locally to help hotels and restaurants shorten the time of importing ingredients from other sources and actively engage in creating local cuisine suitable for serving international tourists. Culinary experiences should be closely tied to cultural stories, using local ingredients and flavors from Tr’hy Commune, Tay Giang, to promote local cuisine of Da Nang – Quang Nam to both domestic and international tourists. This will not only enhance the dining experiences of hotels and restaurants but also contribute to building sustainable community values.” – Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh affirmed.
In further sharing with the leadership, officials, and local residents, Mr. Quynh pledges: “Today’s memorandum of understanding is not only a commitment to market outlets for local agricultural products but also promises to lay the groundwork for the development of sustainable agritourism. We will accompany you through various promotional activities such as sharing agricultural knowledge, establishing an exhibition area for Tr’hy Commune agricultural products in Tay Giang to introduce to domestic and international tourists, supporting training in communication, marketing, and digital business for local labor force, as well as connecting with food supply and production units to develop local agricultural production plans.”
Mr. Andre Pierre Gentzsch shared: “Sustainable development is one of the core values of culinary and heritage development at Furama Resort Da Nang over the years. With the signing of this memorandum of understanding, Furama Resort Da Nang is proud to be a pioneer, contributing to the establishment of a stable and clean agricultural supply source right in Danang-Quang Nam. Various vegetables and clean agricultural products, crafted by the skilled hands of our professional kitchen team, will bring stories and add significance to the delicious dishes served at Furama Resort Da Nang.”
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the Danang Hotel Association, Danang Culinary Culture Association, North My An Tourism Joint Stock Company, Viet Food Company, Green Heart Company, Sun Food Company, and An Thanh F&B Company have joined hands to present gifts to 10 families in special circumstances in Tr’hy commune, Tay Giang district, Quang Nam province.
