Summer Cultural Culinary Night: “Da Nang Flavors – Vietnam’s Essence”
As part of the “Journey of Vietnamese Culinary Culture” series of events, on the evening of June 19, Furama Resort Danang organized a summer culinary culture experience gala with the theme “Da Nang Flavors – Vietnam’s Essence,” offering impressive culinary experiences.
This gala featured the presence of four top Vietnamese Master Chefs: Doan Van Tuan, Do Ngoc Cong, Nguyen Danh Hinh, and Le Xuan Tam. They showcased their exquisite and creative cooking techniques, presenting unique and special dishes tied to cultural stories, with guidance from culinary culture researcher Le Tan.
Alongside the culinary showcase, at the gala on the evening of June 19, there were also exhibitions and promotions of agricultural products from Hoa Bac mountainous region, Nam O fish sauce (Da Nang), agricultural products from the mountainous district of Tay Giang (Quang Nam), and Bo Chinh ginseng from A Lưới (Thua Thien Hue). This made a strong impression on culinary culture researcher Le Tan, who is a member of the Central-level Product Evaluation and Classification Council for OCOP products.
According to Mr. Tan, one of the significant meanings of the “Journey of Vietnamese Culinary Culture” at Furama Resort Da Nang is to support and promote local agricultural products and rural areas. The distinctive agricultural products of Da Nang, Quang Nam, and Thua Thien Hue are not only used in providing culinary services at resorts and restaurants to create culinary value but also contribute to building the foundation for OCOP products to expand globally.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association, believes that organizing events to celebrate culture and cuisine is one of the effective ways to attract tourists. Culinary festivals, traditional art performances, cultural experiences such as cooking classes, and visits to craft villages all provide unforgettable experiences for both domestic and international tourists.
“The tightly integrated development strategy between culture and cuisine not only brings economic benefits but also contributes to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, creating a special attraction for visitors to Da Nang, both domestically and internationally,” emphasized Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh.

Da Nang Asian Film Festival II – DANAFF II at Furama – Ariyana Danang International Tourism Complex
The 2nd Da Nang Asian Film Festival, themed “DANAFF – Bridge of Asia,” is scheduled to take place from July 2 to July 6, 2024. The 2nd Da Nang Asian Film Festival is organized under the direction of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, chaired by the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA), in coordination with the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports and other related units.
Specifically, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, along with the Award Ceremony of the Film Festival, will be held at the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV) and relayed by Da Nang Television and other television stations nationwide. This special cultural event aims to select and honor outstanding cinematic works that are rich in human values, featuring new explorations and unique artistic expressions.
According to the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports, DANAFF II is scheduled to be held in early July instead of May like last year, maintaining the program framework of a professional film festival: Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Award Ceremony, competition programs, international seminars and discussions; artist-audience interactions; the “Nurturing Talent” workshop; tours of historical sites and scenic spots, and the promotion of filming locations.
In the two competition categories of Asian Films and Vietnamese Films at the 2024 Da Nang Asian Film Festival, numerous awards will be presented, such as Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Actress.
In the Asian Films competition category, there will be new films that have never been shown in Asia or worldwide. Additionally, successful films that have received high acclaim and achievements will also participate in the competition. In the Vietnamese Films category, notable films include the debut works of young and creative directors, such as “Cu li không bao giờ khóc” by Pham Ngoc Lan and “Inside the yellow cocoon shell” by Pham Thien An.
This year, DANAFF II will not only screen films at three major theaters but will also include two outdoor screening locations on Nhu Nguyet Street and at the park in front of the Lien Chieu District Administrative Center. This promises to offer a unique and exciting cinematic experience for the audience.
DANAFF II is expected to become a prominent cultural and artistic event, garnering widespread interest from both the domestic and international communities towards Da Nang. Opening Ceremony of Nipper Program 2024
The “Nippers” 2024 swimming, rescue, and water safety training program has returned with nearly 30 children participating. This annual course, organised by Furama Resort Danang, features trainers certified by Surf Life Saving Australia.
The children had a fun and meaningful Sunday with engaging lessons delivered through interactive games. Moreover, this event allowed the kids to make new friends and parents to meet and socialize over the weekend.
