Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, along with senior leaders and the business communities of both countries, congratulated Vietjet on welcoming its 200 millionth passenger and introducing a new flight route during the Prime Minister’s state visit to India.

Vietjet’s 200 millionth passenger is Indian businessman Mr. Sandeep Mehta. To honor this special occasion, Vietjet awarded him with one year of free international flights.

On this occasion, Vietjet also announced the launch of a new route connecting Ahmedabad, India’s largest city in the state of Gujarat, with Da Nang, the most livable city in Vietnam. The new route is expected to serve passengers starting October 2024.

Ahmedabad is a vibrant and historic city in Gujarat, known for its unique blend of ancient and modern architecture. Gujarat is home to many major Indian companies investing in Vietnam. Meanwhile, Da Nang offers a central heritage journey with world heritage sites, stunning beaches, and luxurious resorts.

Vietjet provides numerous options for residents and tourists of both countries with direct flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to major Indian cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Tiruchirappalli, as well as famous destinations like Bodh Gaya and Varanasi.

Vietjet currently operates the most direct routes between Vietnam and India, with 56 flights per week across seven routes. The total number of passengers transported between Vietnam and India by Vietjet has reached nearly 1.3 million.

As a pioneering airline, Vietjet launched the first direct flights connecting New Delhi with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in December 2019. The airline has continuously expanded its network, facilitating convenient connections not only between the two countries but also linking India with Asia, Australia, and beyond. This expansion significantly enhances economic, investment, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two nations and the Asia-Pacific region.
