Vietnam Digital Government Summit 2024 at Furama International Convention Palace

Under the auspices and guidance of Da Nang City People’s Committee and Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang City, International Data Group in Vietnam (IDG Vietnam) will collaborate with Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA), The Radio and Electronics Association of Vietnam (REV) and The Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA) to organize Vietnam Digital Government Summit 2024. The conference will be held on October 25th in Da Nang City to share and exchange models, experiences, as well as introduce information technology solutions that promote the development of the digital economy and digital society, aiming towards the national digital transformation goals.

In recent times, Vietnam’s digital transformation has made significant progress. The framework for developing e-Government, digital government, and the digital economy is gradually being completed. Digital transformation within state administrative agencies has yielded positive results. The provision of online public services has seen significant advancements, with 4,400 services integrated into the National Public Service Portal. Databases for the digital government continue to be deployed and interconnected, supporting economic growth based on productivity and innovation.

This success is attributed to the decisive and coordinated direction of the entire political system, businesses, and citizens, which has helped Da Nang achieve remarkable achievements in digital transformation, with the digital economy accounting for 19.76% of the city’s GRDP in 2023. The city has made substantial investments in human resource training and the development of IT and telecommunications infrastructure, along with the collaboration of enterprises in this field. Da Nang aims to complete its international financial center and strongly develop Fintech by 2030, while also promoting the semiconductor industry. In the 2020-2025 term, the city is committed to renewing its growth model, developing high-tech industries, building a smart city, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, laying the foundation for the digital economy and society.

This year, Vietnam Digital Government Summit 2024 will be held in Da Nang City with the theme: “DA NANG – GREEN AND SUSTAINABLE CITY: OPPORTUNITIES FOR INVESTMENT AND TRADE DEVELOPMENT IN THE NEW ERA.”. The conference will focus on finding solutions to build a green and sustainable urban ecosystem, with particular emphasis on key areas such as e-Government, healthcare, education, transportation, and construction. These are challenging fields but hold the most promise for building a sustainable model that ensures rapid economic growth.

This year’s conference will include 01 Keynotes session in the morning and 02 Discussion sessions (running concurrently in the afternoon with the following outstanding discussion topic contents:

• – Applying Population Data in Smart Urban Management: From Collection to Implementation
• – Leveraging the National Population Database to Boost E-commerce and the Digital Economy

• – Building a Green and Sustainable Ecosystem

In addition, the event will also feature a program to honor The Outstanding Chief Digitalization Officer Awards 2024 is an award organized by IDG Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam Digital Communication Association in the context of Vietnam’s digital transformation having made impressive strides in recent years. The award is held annually to honor the Chief Digitalization Officer of the Government sector and the business sector in Vietnam who have excellent achievements in organizing and directing the implementation activities of applying IT, security and promoting digital transformation of business management activities, contributing to promoting the digital economy and digital society towards digital government.

The conference is expected to attract 300-400 in-person participants, including leaders from government agencies, the Government Office, various ministries, and departments, as well as representatives from provinces and localities, experts in information technology and cybersecurity, and members of the press and media. Additionally, the conference will be broadcast live on the Cisco Webex Meeting platform and via Facebook Fanpage, with an estimated 300-400 attendees and connected units joining online.

Meticulously recreated from a wooden stilt house in Mường Khụ, Hòa Bình, Tàya House offers an authentic glimpse into the lives of the Mường people. The house’s open-plan design, with its three rooms and thatched roof, invites visitors to connect with nature. Constructed using traditional carpentry techniques and locally sourced materials such as trai and sến wood, Tàya House showcases the intricate craftsmanship of the Mường people. Every component, from the beams to the rafters, was carefully crafted and assembled using traditional Mường techniques. Following months of meticulous construction guided by two local Mường artisans, the house has been almost entirely reconstructed in its original form within the Lagoon garden of Furama Resort Đà Nẵng. Nestled against a hillside and surrounded by small streams, the ancient stilt house “Tàya House” not only recreates the traditional living space of the Mường people but also symbolizes the cultural exchange between the northernmost region and the central coast.
