In the past three years, digital transformation has become one of the main driving forces behind the development of Da Nang’s tourism industry. Advanced technological solutions, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), are gradually transforming how tourism businesses operate—from enhancing customer experiences to optimizing management and operational processes.

According to the digital transformation architecture model in tourism proposed at the 2021 Tourism Conference and the “Smart Tourism Ecosystem” (Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, October 2024), tourism businesses and authorities in Da Nang are implementing technology applications to optimize customer management. These include the use of websites, CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems, and service-supporting software to better manage tourists’ journeys, provide accurate and timely information, and enhance service integration across the industry.

According to a report by We Market Research, the AI market in the hospitality industry was valued at USD 90 million in 2022 and is projected to reach USD 8.12 billion by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 60% during the forecast period.

Da Nang: A Strategy to Become a Smart Tourism Hub

At the seminar “Artificial Intelligence – A New Driver for Da Nang’s Development,” experts proposed a strategy for building a robust data platform, combining technology and human factors to enhance customer experience and optimize the application of AI in tourism—positioning Da Nang as a regional smart tourism hub.

IBH HOSPITALITY TRAINING ACADEMY OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES SWISS HOSPITALITY & TOURISM MANAGEMENT PROGRAM – SWISS EHT FROM JUNE 2025

Da Nang, May 6, 2025 – At Furama Resort Danang, the IBH Hospitality Training Academy officially launched the Swiss Executive Hospitality Training (Swiss EHT) program. This initiative is part of the “Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development in Vietnam” (ST4SD) project, funded by the Swiss Government through the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and transferred from the renowned Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL).

IBH Hospitality Training Academy is proud to be one of the four pioneering institutions implementing the Swiss EHT program in Vietnam, alongside the National Economics University (Hanoi), Van Lang University, and Saigon Tourism College (Ho Chi Minh City). The program follows a clearly defined three-tier structure:

• Foundation Level: Designed for frontline employees, particularly those in direct contact with guests.

• Intermediate Level: Targeted at team leaders and supervisors—those who bridge strategy and execution.

• Advanced Level: Tailored for department heads and senior executives—those shaping vision and building organizational culture.

The Swiss EHT program not only enhances management capabilities but also fosters a network of professionals between Vietnam and Switzerland, promoting international cooperation, experience sharing, and innovation in management methods. The adoption of international standards is expected to improve service quality and better meet the demands of both domestic and global labor markets.

Danang Welcomes Uzbek Visitors: Opening New Doors for Cultural Exchange

On April 27th, 2025, the first direct flight from Tashkent (Uzbekistan) successfully landed at Danang International Airport, bringing over 180 passengers to Vietnam’s vibrant coastal city. This new air route not only paves the way for strengthened tourism cooperation between the two countries but also offers Uzbek travelers convenient access to Vietnam’s rich cultural experiences and stunning beaches.

A New Air Route – Opening the Door to Central Asia

Operated in collaboration with Prestige DMC Vietnam, Red Island Company, Centrium-Air Airways, and Prestige Travel Uzbekistan, the Tashkent-Danang charter route will run weekly from April 27 to October 31, 2025. The frequency is expected to increase to two flights per week starting in June 2025.

This development is part of a broader strategy to expand Vietnam’s international tourism markets, particularly from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. With this route, the total number of weekly flights from the CIS to Danang now reaches 11.
