DA NANG WELCOMES SIGNIFICANT VISITOR INFLUX, AFFIRMING ITS APPEAL DURING APRIL 30 – MAY 1 HOLIDAY
This year’s Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1) holiday period once again underscored the compelling allure of Da Nang city, as tens of thousands of domestic and international tourists selected it as their destination for leisure and exploration. A vibrant festive atmosphere permeated the renowned tourist areas and attractions, with many reporting maximum operational capacity.
Sun World Ba Na Hills reaffirmed its position as one of Da Nang’s premier tourist hotspots. From the early morning of May 1st, queues of visitors formed, patiently awaiting the modern cable car experience and the chance to admire the impressive scenery, often likened to a “miniature Europe” nestled within the city. The resort complex was adorned with splendid festive decorations, featuring vibrant flags and flowers. The heroic strains of revolutionary music resounded, interspersed with outstanding international artistic performances, creating an atmosphere both solemn and cheerful. The iconic Golden Bridge, embellished with the national flag’s red banner and gold star for the grand holiday, presented a powerful and meaningful visual statement.

Discussing the special activities during the holiday, Mr. Nguyen Lam An, Director of Sun World Ba Na Hills Resort, stated that organizing diverse artistic programs and recreating nostalgic subsidized-era culinary spaces aimed not only to refresh the visitor experience. Furthermore, these activities served to foster national pride and introduce the unique beauty of Vietnamese culture to international friends.

Equally bustling, the Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park registered exceptional interest from visitors. On the morning of May 1st alone, the park welcomed over 4,000 guests. The previous day, April 30th, this figure had approached the 5,000 mark. Notably, accommodation occupancy at the affiliated Ebisu Onsen Resort reached full 100% capacity. Projections estimated that the resort would host a total of approximately 25,000 visitors throughout the five-day holiday period.
Beyond these two prominent highlights, other notable Da Nang landmarks, including the serene Son Tra Peninsula, the majestic Linh Ung Pagoda, the Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains) National Special Relic site, and modern entertainment complexes like Danang Downtown and Da Nang Mikazuki, also welcomed large numbers of visitors for sightseeing and recreation.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, Head of the Management Board of Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains), shared that on May 1st alone, the site anticipated receiving over 7,200 visitors. The total estimated number of visitors for the entire holiday period at this location was an impressive figure, expected to exceed 32,000. Similarly, the Da Nang Mikazuki resort and entertainment complex projected serving around 18,000 guests over the five holiday days, with average room occupancy hitting 99% and reaching the 100% threshold during the peak days from April 30th to May 2nd.
To further enrich the experience for residents and tourists alike, the city of Da Nang proactively organized a diverse and appealing series of cultural and artistic events throughout the holiday break.
According to information from the Da Nang Department of Tourism, this year’s holiday period (lasting from April 27th to May 1st) was forecasted to see significant growth in visitor numbers compared to the same period in 2024. Data from Da Nang International Airport indicated a strong surge in flight activity, with approximately 692 arriving and departing flights, marking a 16% increase from the previous year, averaging 138 flights daily.

Maritime travel also contributed to the vibrant tourism picture, as Da Nang Port welcomed an international cruise ship docking at Tien Sa Port, carrying around 2,000 multinational passengers. Concurrently, the number of visitors choosing to travel to Da Nang by rail during the holiday was estimated at over 13,200.
The bustling activity at various destinations, combined with impressive statistics, once again confirms Da Nang’s position and strong appeal on Vietnam’s tourism map. It stands as a testament to the city’s meticulous preparation and continuous efforts in delivering high-quality and memorable travel experiences.
