Nearly 1,000 People Join a Beach Run to Promote Da Nang’s Coastal Tourism
On August 4, 2024, the Barefoot Beach Run 2024 took place at Da Nang Beach, attracting nearly 1,000 running enthusiasts.
The 4 km race stretched along Danang’s coastline, starting from the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang and ending at Muong Thanh Hotel.
The event was organized by the Da Nang Tourism Association, the Da Nang Hotel Association, and Ariyana Convention Centre Da Nang. Participants included tourists, locals, sports lovers, and representatives from the tourism and service industries, with some coming from neighboring provinces and even from abroad.
The purpose of the run was to showcase the beauty of Da Nang’s beaches, promote health and fitness, strengthen community connections, and raise environmental awareness.
The first-place winner was Nguyen Hoang Phi Vinh, with a time of 17 minutes, followed by Dang Dao Duc in second place, and Pham Nhu Phuoc in third for the men’s category. In the women’s category, Le Thi Phuong claimed first place, with Nguyen Thi Thu Trang and Kim Anh taking second and third place, respectively.
The event organizers plan to make the Barefoot Beach Run an annual event. Mrs. Truong Thi Lan Huong, Managing Director of Ariyana Convention Centre Danang, highlighted the opportunity for the local sports community, tourism industry workers, and both domestic and international tourists to engage in a vibrant and thrilling sports atmosphere while enjoying the stunning beauty of Da Nang’s beaches.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association and Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association, emphasized that the Barefoot Beach Run adds to the list of exciting summer activities in Da Nang, including the Asian Film Festival, My Tam’s “My Soul 1981” concert, the Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival, and the upcoming rock concert “The Next.”
The dynamic activities at Da Nang’s beaches underscore the effectiveness and right direction of Da Nang’s MICE tourism development strategy, positioning the city as a focal point for top-tier events in Asia.
