Inter-regional Meeting in Tourism Ecosystem between Côte d’Azur and Danang
On October 28th, at Furama Resort Danang, “Vietnamese Cuisine – International Twists” cultural exchange event – a part of IMTECAD 2023, aimed at promoting tourism and cultural exchange between the cities of Cannes and Nice in the Côte d’Azur region, France, and Danang city, Vietnam, took place.
The event was organized through a collaboration between the Danang Tourism Association, the Danang Hotel Association, and the ULYSSEUS European University Alliance, in partnership with the University of Côte d’Azur and the culinary heritage Furama Resort Danang.
Furama Resort Danang is honor to welcome the French delegation, led by Mr. De Pariente Thomas, Deputy Mayor of Cannes (French Republic), Pr. Dr.Sc. Bùi Văn Ga, ex-Vice Minister, Ministry of Education and Training, Pr. Dr.Sc. Lê Thành Nhân, Dr. Cao Trí Dũng – Chairman of the Danang Tourism Association, Mr. Nguyễn Đức Quỳnh – Chairman of the Danang Hotel Association, and Mr. Gentzsch Andre Pierre – General Manager of Furama – Ariyana Danang Tourism complex, as well as representatives from various hotels and the sponsor Green Field Vietnam.
During his opening speech, Pr. Dr.Sc. Bùi Văn Ga emphasized the exciting opportunities for collaboration in various aspects of tourism, culture, academics, and more between the two regions. This collaboration aims to strengthen the sustainable relationship and development of both Vietnam and France.
Following this, Dr. Cao Trí Dũng expressed his hope for further collaboration in tourism development, especially in the film industry, film festivals, and the MICE tourism sector between the two regions. Dr. Cao Trí Dũng also entrusted the responsibility for the next exchange event to the representatives from Côte d’Azur, France, with hopes for many such events in the near future.
Throughout the event, there were presentations and exchanges regarding the culture, art, and tourism of the Côte d’Azur region, France, and Danang. Mr. Prabhakar Singh (Parker), Director of Sales & Marketing of Furama – Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex, showcased the beauty and attractions of Danang’s tourism, with a special focus on MICE tourism. Additionally, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Minh Tâm, Managing Director of the IBH Academy, shared information about the academy and her expectations for future cooperation with the ULYSSEUS European University Alliance and the University of Côte d’Azur, France, in the field of training and education.
The highlight of the event was a cultural exchange and presentation featuring dishes from the Côte d’Azur region, France, and Danang, Vietnam. These dishes creatively blended international elements with “Vietnamese Cuisine – International Twists.” The chefs, including Michelin 2-star Chef Sinicropi Christian, the culinary ambassador of Cannes Côte d’Azur, and Chef Doãn Văn Tuấn, the head chef of Furama – Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex, used water lily grown on the Hoà Liên farm in Hoà Vang as the primary ingredient. They prepared innovative dishes that preserved the exquisite flavors of Vietnamese cuisine.
Chef Sinicropi Christian, who had been inspired during his visits to local markets in Vietnam, expressed his desire to offer culinary experiences that blend the cultural heritage of his home in Côte d’Azur, France, without compromising the essence of Vietnamese cuisine.
Representing Danang, Chef Doãn Văn Tuấn served a dish titled “Vietnamese fresh seafood hand rolls with waterlily & herbs” with the aim of introducing the unique flavors of Vietnam to the distinguished guests from France. Chef Tuan shared: “The combination of waterlily with the five flavors of sour, spicy, salty, sweet, and bitter, sourced from various herbs in the Central Region, I hope to present a visually appealing, delicious, and nutritious dish that celebrated the traditional local culinary values”

The event will feature two culinary maestros who are set to tantalize taste buds with their culinary creations:
Chef Sinicropi Christian is famous as the 2 Michelin stars 18 Gault & Millau 2007 to 2023, and Ambassador of the City of Cannes | Côte d’Azur on this year IMTECAD. The Chef is well-versed in the history of the Hôtel Martinez. Born in Cannes, a lover and defender of his Provençal terroir, he has worked at the establishment since 2001; in 2007, he became the Chef at La Palme d’Or restaurant, he channels his creativity and style into the culinary artistry of La Palme d’Or and all the hotel’s other dining establishments.
Chef Doan Van Tuan is an experienced Executive Chef with extensive expertise in the culinary industry, spanning over 20 years. Chef Tuan actively engages in professional activities within the hotel tourism industry. He has served as a judge for esteemed events such as the Danang Chef Talent 2022 competition and the International Food Festival 2019. Since 2022, Tuan has held the position of Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Culinary Culture Association in Da Nang (VCCA-DCCA).

On October 23rd, the coastal provinces of Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, and Da Nang City collaborated with the Vietnam-Malaysia Friendship Association to host a program aimed at promoting Vietnamese tourism in Kuala Lumpur. Mr. Gentzsch Andre Pierre – General Manager and Mr. Hoang Vinh Sang – Senior Sales Manager represented Furama-Ariyana Tourism Complex to be a part of this special event.
This event, held at the World Trade Center, had the overarching goal of cultivating and expanding the international tourism market’s potential while enhancing the marketing communication of the “Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage” program. The provinces involved had high hopes of drawing in more visitors from key markets such as Malaysia, Singapore, and the broader ASEAN region, thereby increasing their presence in the tourism industry.
During the event, Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, and Da Nang City showcased their destinations, introduced new tourist offerings and services, and presented promotional programs from 22 travel businesses to their Malaysian partners and visitors. The gathering attracted a diverse audience, including representatives from Malaysian localities, airlines, travel companies, and media outlets, as well as delegates from Quang Nam, Da Nang, and Thua Thien-Hue.

Training Course: Building a sustainable source of customers at Furama
On October 23, 2023, Furama Resort Da Nang accompanied the Da Nang Hotel Association in collaboration with IBH Academy to organize the training course “Building a Sustainable Customer Source” for members of the Da Nang Hotel Association.

Under the transmission and guidance of Mr Nguyen Thanh Long – Master Marketing of Swinburne University, Head of Economics Department of British College – BTEC – FPT, students learned the basic principles to determine content and create funnels on digital channels to create a continuous and sustainable source of customers, understand why building funnels and using content is becoming increasingly important as well as how to define content and understand the journey client.

The training session had the presence of Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh – Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association, Mr. Le Dinh Nam – Vice President and Head of Training and Digital Transformation Department of the Hotel Association, Ms. Truong Thi Lan Huong – Member Standing Executive Committee and Ms. Ngo Thi Huong – Member of the Executive Committee of the Da Nang Hotel Association and 60 students from different hotel units.

In the interview, Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh shared: Stemming from the risk that some of Da Nang’s traditional markets are shifting less to other destinations in Vietnam, as well as the interest of tourists towards these destinations. emerging markets, and especially accommodation businesses that rely too much on online travel agencies (OTAs), it is necessary to build effective marketing channels to proactively get direct customer sources.”

Furama Sport Tournament Concludes Successfully
At 17:30 this afternoon (18th Oct 2023), at the International Convention Palace, the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of Furama Sports Tournament 2023 took place with the participation of nearly 100 employees and the Board of Directors of Furama Resort Danang. At the end of the Tournament, the organizer awarded 12 sets of medals to 12 male and female teams competing in 6 sports including Football, volleyball, badminton, tug of war, sack jumping and walking stilts.
The Furama Sports Tournament 2023 provided an opportunity for individuals and departments within the Furama-Ariyana Tourism Complex to engage and compete after moments of intense work, satisfying their passion, and enhancing the spirit of solidarity.

GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2023 has officially kicked off for the first time in Danang
The largest beer festival in Southeast Asia, GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2023, has officially kicked off for the first time in the beautiful coastal city, Danang.
On this evening of October 6, 2023, GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2023 is officially kicked off for the first time in Danang city. The festival started at 6:00 PM and concluded at 11:00 PM on the same day at the International Convention Palace of Furama Resort, with nearly 500 attendees including tourists, expatriates living and working in Vietnam, representatives of German businesses, and a large number of local residents.
Oktoberfest is the world’s largest annual beer festival, originally from Munich, Germany. This year marks the first time that GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam has come to Danang, organized by Furama Resort in collaboration with the German Business Association (GBA), aiming to recreate the unique elements of the original Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. The event was held under the patronage of the German Embassy and Consulate General of Germany in Vietnam, with the goal of promoting the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Germany in various fields such as culture, economy, trade, investment, and spreading the unique cultural values of Germany throughout Vietnam.
