Vietnam eyes building national cultural tourism brand
Cultural tourism has become increasingly attractive to both domestic and international tourists over recent years and contributed to the tourism sector’s sustainable development.
Vietnam was recently named a Leading Heritage Destination, a Leading Cultural Destination, and a Leading Culinary Destination of Asia at the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) 2020.
It was the second consecutive year Vietnam was honoured in the three categories, confirming that culture, heritage, and cuisine are key factors bringing international titles to local tourism.
The project will be developed by VNAT’s Tourism Market Department based on planning and international experience in national brand building and development, with a focus on the two strongest fields of heritage and cuisine.
Cultural tourism is set to account for 15-20 percent of the 40 billion USD in tourism revenue earned annually by 2030. By 2025 and with a vision to 2030, Vietnam will boast many special, high-quality cultural tourism products that appeal to domestic and international tourists.
The tourism sector will concentrate on promoting the national brand for cultural tourism, supporting the development of heritage and culinary tourism products, and revamping policies encouraging heritage and culinary tourism./.

Danang Beach Among 10 Most Beautiful Beaches In Vietnam By Forbes Magazine
Renowned US-based business magazine Forbes has revealed a list of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, which boasts more than 3,000 km of coastline plus a handful of renowned island destinations that are mostly just a day-trip from the coast if not on the coast already.
The list takes keen travellers to the most notable beach destinations from the North to the South of Vietnam and from the coastal cities to islands. Danang beach is proud to be praised for its diverse water sport activities.
“A one-time French colonial port on the central coast, Vietnam’s third-largest city is also home to some of the country’s best beaches. And it’s got a little something for everyone, from the bustling beaches located a short drive from city to the more secluded spots for those keen on adventure.
Fans of water sports can visit My Khe Beach, the closest beach to the city center and a world-renowned favorite for surfing, snorkeling, and jet-skiing. Meanwhile, those who prefer some privacy can hop on a motorbike to the untouched Tien Sa Beach on the north side of the Son Tra Peninsula. Other nearby attractions include the stunning Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to Son Doong, the world’s largest cave.” – According to Forbes.

See You In Danang
These days, Vietnamese together with global citizens are taking their responsibilities during Covid-19 crisis by social distancing, staying at home more, and restricting travelling activities.
These days, the “white-shirt heroes”, together with many volunteers are the front liners taking their responsibilities towards the country.
These days, Danang becomes a little quieter, a little slower, as if the city is preparing itself to be the strong back-line for the heroes fighting with all their efforts out there.
No matter what, Danang remains beautiful. The flowers are still blooming along the beloved streets of the city. Han River is still flowing and witnessing the local daily life. Son Tra is still holding on and healing. The beach is still gorgeous and loving…
On behalf of the tourism industry of Danang, of the citizens of Danang, we would like to send our gratitude to all the heroes in this battle. Danang FantastiCity team would like to send a special message to domestic and international tourists: Take care. Pause. Stay at home. Because Danang will wait for you.
A little waiting will make every reunion worthwhile, isn’t it? Remember, you have a date will Danang soon. And Danang will wait.

26th Asean Economic Ministers’ Retreat
Economic ministers from 10 ASEAN member countries gathered at Furama Resort Danang on March 10th, 2020 for the 26th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Retreat, during which they discussed economic cooperation plan this year.
The plan, including 13 priorities proposed by Viet Nam, will be submitted to the 36th ASEAN Summit, scheduled to take place in the city from April 6-9.
The priorities are based on three main orientations, namely promoting connection and economic connectivity in ASEAN, enhancing partnership for peace and sustainable development and raising adaptation capacity and operational effectiveness of ASEAN.
Given the complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic, Vietnam suggested ASEAN needs to take concerted efforts to maintain ASEAN supply chains and facilitate access to input materials by businesses, especially small and medium-sized ones.
Earlier the same day, the ministers attended consultative meeting with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council.
