In making its evaluation, Airline Ratings considers the airlines’ incident records in recent years, fleet age, results of audits conducted by the governing body of aviation, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and other aviation authorities.
“The airline’s priority in operational excellence confirms their brand names in the aviation industry while expressing their customer-centric strategy. Vietjet is especially recognized for massive investment into a new fleet, system upgrades and technology adoption to ensure safety in operation and meeting passengers’ evolving and convenient flight demands,” Airline Ratings Editor-in-chief Geoffrey Thomas said.

This year’s top 10 list also includes notable low-cost peers such as Ryanair, EasyJet and Frontier, for their excellent performances in flight safety despite the pandemic. Airline Ratings also rates Vietjet at seven-star level, the highest ranking for aviation safety in the world for four consecutive years since 2018.

Vietjet Managing Director Dinh Viet Phuong said: “We are proud to keep up with the top safety ranking in the global aviation industry. Han River to be transformed into a ‘river of light’ with bridges lit up

According to the Signify Vietnam Company – the design consultancy unit of the project, the project aims to give the Han River, an iconic Danang beauty, an artistic makeover, thereby making the city more vivid and romantic when the night comes.

Accordingly, five bridges spanning the Han River in the city center will be bathed in light to ‘breathe new life’ into Danang at night. This will help to create an attractive nighttime tourism product for the city in order to increase tourist numbers and enhance the spiritual lives of local residents, hereby significantly contributing to driving the city’s economic tourism. Especially, the project will help enhance the value of the general urban landscape alongside the Han River, creating a new symbol for the central coastal city.

Under the project, the artistic lighting system will be installed at the Nguyen Van Troi pedestrian bridge, whilst the current lighting systems on four other bridges, namely Thuan Phuoc, Song Han (Han River), Tran Thi Ly and Rong (Dragon), will be upgraded.

In addition, urban landscapes along both banks of the Han River, and riverside parks and green trees will be illuminated.
With regard to the space on the water surface of the river, the project’s design consultancy unit has proposed to add lighting activities for the city’s large-scale events and organize lighting events in the city such as laser light shows, water music programmes, lighting systems in the sky, drone light shows, and 3D water screen projection shows.

Most notably, the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge will play a central role and be a focal point of spreading the long axis of art lighting along the river.

There are two ideas about arts lighting decorations for the bridge: ‘lighting thread’ and ‘carp turns into dragon’. In particular, the ‘lighting thread’ idea will represent the connection of the past to the present and towards the future, whilst the ‘carp turns into a dragon’ theme will feature the dynamic image of Danang as the embodiment of success and complete happiness.

Meanwhile, the city will upgrade the current lighting systems on Thuan Phuoc, Song Han (Han River), Tran Thi Ly and Rong (Dragon) bridges with the aim to promote the development of waterway tourism on the Han River.

All lighting systems on the Han River will be connected and controlled via the internet with the use of the Interact Landmark software. The use of the software makes it easy to create and trigger light shows from anywhere.

The total costs of the installation of a new lighting system for Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, and the upgrade of lighting systems for Song Han, Dragon, Tran Thi Ly and Thuan Phuoc bridges are estimated at VND110 billion.

In his speech delivered at the inauguration ceremony of the expanded APEC Sculpture Park on January 10, 2022, Danang People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh revealed that the city planned to implement a public art lighting project themed ‘River of Light’ in combination with festival and cultural activities to create a chain of attractive tourism products for the city, thereby contributing to improving the spiritual life of local residents and increasing tourist numbers in the city.

Unique architectural design of Hai Chau District Administration Centre

Creativity in the organization of landscape space

The expansion project, planned at 270 Tran Phu, Phuoc Ninh Ward, Hai Chau District with a total area of 8,010 m2, is expected to consist of the existing Hai Chau District Administrative Centre covering about 4,925 m2, the existing traffic island site with about 2,396 m2 and the planned-to-be-relocated houses nearby with a total area of about 691m2.
The planned project will border a 3m wide alley to the north, the current residential area to the west, Le Dinh Duong Street to the south and Tran Phu Street to the east.

The design team from the Danang Urban Planning Institute proposed the idea of expanding the building looking over Nguyen Van Linh and Han River – Dragon Bridge, instead of Tran Phu one-way street as currently.
The Center has two entrance gates. One is on Nguyen Van Linh Street for entry by visitors heading towards its lobby whilst the other has the façade on Tran Phu Street, serving as an internal gate for its staff.

Creating architectural and landscape highlights

The new Centre is an architectural complex with a layout of three blocks corresponding to the functional blocks of the public administration, office tower, hall and meeting rooms.

The project consists of two basements, two podiums, one floor of open garden space and nine floors of towers (including the technical rooftop) with a total height of 54m so as to create enough azimuth and majestically architectural appearance, and at the same time, being totally suitable for the needs of using a total internal gross floor area of 21,963m2, including two basements dedicated for parking.

It can be realized that the architectural language is modern, gentle and elegant, aiming to turn close to dwellers coming to the Centre, along with exchanges and meetings.

The podium arrays are inspired by the image of communal houses deeply imbued with traditional folk architecture features adapted into modern ones.

The main modern architectural ‘language’ highlights three major methods namely solid block, sunshade and glass walls.
It is notable that the design also offers a modern lighting solution because the building shows off a beautiful view over the western bank of Han River and can be fully exploited as an attractive highlight of the night landscape.

The exploitation of the aesthetic lighting beauty of the building is based on both methods of lighting up the interior and exterior spaces with the effective application of all kinds of lights, including LED ones.  This harmonious combination aims to help the project to ‘truly live’ at night amid the dynamic urban life of the downtown district.

Vietnam to develop new tourism products for South Korean vacationers

On Monday, authorities in Quang Binh, Thua Thien-Hue, Danang, and Quang Nam held a joint webinar to promote tourism aimed at the South Korean market.

Nam Dukhyun, representative of CH Commons Company, said that South Korean tourists have had a change in demand and spending behaviors.

A recent survey on travel options showed that a tour package of one to four days is preferred by up to 66 percent of South Koreans.

Some 53 percent of South Korean tourists are fond of leisure travel, while 43 percent enjoy visiting family and friends, and 22 percent choose outdoor sports.

Tourist attractions that embrace a closed tourism model without outside contact and are close to nature will attract such tourists, according to available data.

Vietnam has plenty of potential to satisfy different tourism demands, therefore South Korea’s travel agencies expressed their wish to organize charter flights and self-contained full-service tours for customers for the upcoming year-end and Lunar New Year holiday.

According to Nguyen Xuan Binh, vice-director of the Danang Department of Tourism, Vietnam is actively reviving international tourism with COVID-19 safety regulations in place to ensure a safe reopening.

From November, the main source of international visitors to the four said localities are expected to be mainly Vietnamese who are currently abroad and wish to return home to visit family, as well as guests from markets such as South Korea and Japan.

A trial period is crucial to Vietnam’s desire to fully reopen its tourism industry and welcome international visitors in June 2022.

Danang, among the localities that have been chosen for this trial, has carefully prepared safety protocols to welcome tourists, with plans for inbound travelers consisting of three phases:

Phase one (from November 2021): Danang welcomes international travelers who book full-service tours through charter flights and commercial flights to selected accommodations.

The city will select accommodations to service international guests, including hotels, resorts, and golf courses that meet requirements and match package tours developed by travel companies. The packages are expected to include a combination of hotels, golf tours, and leisure tours with entertainment activities.

Phase two (from January 2022): Danang will expand its plans to welcome foreign travelers, connecting destinations through charter flights and commercial flights. Visitors can participate in tour packages combined with other permitted cities and provinces after completing the tourism program at the first destination in seven days.

Phase three: The full reopening of tourism to foreign travelers will depend on the state of the pandemic and on the evaluation of the results of welcoming international tourists in the first two phases.
